Terms and Conditions for Using the RapidShield SOS Emergency System
Effective Date: July 1st 2025
Last Updated: July 6th 2025
Welcome to RapidShield, a flagship service under the Rapid Emergency System, designed to deliver timely and life-saving responses during critical emergencies.
By using the RapidShield SOS device or mobile application, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
- Purpose of the SOS Emergency Button
The SOS Emergency Button (both on the device and in the mobile app) is a dedicated feature strictly for real emergency situations. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Robbery or Armed Threats
- Kidnapping or Abduction Attempts
- Medical Emergencies requiring an Ambulance
❗IMPORTANT:
The SOS Button must not be used for non emergency scenarios such as:
- Asking for directions
- Reporting minor disturbances
- Checking system functionality
- Calling to test the service
For reporting minor disturbances, suspicious activity, or general threats that do not require immediate physical response, users should use the “Report an Incident” feature available in the mobile app.
RapidShield reserves the right to decline response to any request deemed to be a false alarm or misuse of the system. Repeated misuse may result in suspension or termination of your account.
- Ambulance Requests via MediSwift
When the SOS button is activated during a verified medical emergency, our MediSwift dispatch team will:
- Immediately notify nearby verified ambulance partners
- Share your real time location
- Alert your emergency contacts (if configured)
Please note that MediSwift is not a substitute for long term care or in home medical attention. It is intended solely for urgent pre-hospital transport.
- Towing Service Requests (TowSwift)
If you use the TowSwift feature to request a towing vehicle:
- You will first be contacted by our support team to confirm the nature of your situation.
- You will receive an estimated towing fee, calculated based on distance, vehicle type, and location.
- Before dispatch, we will require your oral approval to proceed. This confirmation call will be recorded for transparency and accountability.
Rapid Emergency System will not deploy a tow vehicle without verbal consent and pricing acknowledgment from the user.
- User Responsibility & Fair Use
As a user, you agree to:
- Use the SOS features only in genuine emergencies
- Provide accurate location and contact details
- Cooperate respectfully with response teams
- Not tamper with or simulate emergencies for testing purposes
Any misuse, abuse, or fraudulent triggering of our emergency services may result in:
- Suspension of access
- Legal penalties (if applicable)
- Reporting to appropriate authorities
- Limitation of Liability
While Rapid Emergency System and its partners strive to respond as quickly and efficiently as possible to every emergency, we shall not be held responsible for the outcome of any incident, including (but not limited to) loss of property, injury, delayed arrival, or loss of life.
